Shadow Shot Sunday

Tracy is once again bringing us Shadow Shot Sunday, from what is now sunny, warm Australia. We could really use a little of that warmth over here in the U.S., Tracy!

During our first blizzard of 2010, my house lost power. Since it is an all electric house, I went to visit my son, who still had electricity. At breakfast one morning I noticed this shadow on the wall across from the kitchen window.

This is the actual window over the sink and the scene outside.

And this is the scene outside the window.

The bird feeder stands
bereft of its feathered friends,
buried in deep snow.

oh...that last shot is so pretty....but ready for lots of footprints to muck it all up! Glad you could stay warm & cozy with your son!
Happy SS!

The snow leaves a white blanket on the ground, a perfect canvas for an artist using any medium. The shadows could be in charcoal, say. The snow creates challenges, but contains undeniable beauty.

You have received so much snow in South Jersey, we not so much. Spring arrives soon (sort of), we are tired of cold, gray and snow...

Wow! The last photo really is a stunning scene.
Glad you had somewhere to go to stay warm.

Love your shots for today, Bobbie! The view from the window with the bird feeder is gorgeous! I'm sure by now you're getting tired of WHITE though! Have a great day! Stay warm!

what a beautiful snowy scene
now it should all disappear! ;)

I like how you took us from the shadow on the kitchen wall to the window creating the shadow to the beautiful snowy scene outside the window.
Very clever post!

Sorry you lost electricity. That must have been miserable.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the weekend.

Very pretty...there must have been a lot of trees that sustained damage in all this weather which is sad.... Michelle

Oh I would send you some of our Aussie warmth if I could! It's so hot here right now that I'm dreaming of rolling around in that snow of yours. That's a sweet shadow of the kitchen window decorating the wall :)

Gorgeous lacey shadow in the kitchen and love the play of shadow and light on the snow outside!

Top photo: stark yet the lace shadow also makes it intricate. Very nice. I love the snow shadow shots too. Happy Sunday.

Lovely photos. Here in Ohio we are suppose to get 6-7 more inches of snow... Has to stop sometime LOL

lovely soft shadows Bobbie!
Hopefully the snow will melt rapidly.
Our snow turned to hard ice for the most part.
