I took these pictures last autumn at Cape May Point, New Jersey, near the State Park, on the Delaware Bay.
This is the start of the path leading up, over the dunes.

As the path continues, you can see a pair of birders at the top of the dune, looking out over the water.

As we reach the top of the dune, we see the surf.

Below us, on the beach, is a lone birder with a scope. I wonder what it is he is trying to see out there.

Sky Watch is hosted each week by Tom, Sandy and Imax. Please visit the site and discover the photographs taken by participants from around the world.
I would like to say that I try to visit as many participants as possible. There are so many truly wonderful photographs, and I enjoy them all. I only wish that it could be possible to comment on every one of them, but like most of us, I find I cannot do this when there are over 300 on the list. I continue to view them throughout the week. Others must do this too, since I often receive comments late in the following week. I really appreciate what Tom, Sandy and Imax are doing for us with Sky Watch.
I love Cape May. A friend's family has a house on Madison just 2 short blocks to the beach ... and I have walked up that very walkway and stood in that very spot ...
ReplyDeleteDo you live near Cape May? If we go there this September (we have for the last few years) maybe we can find a time/place to get together!

ReplyDeletemust have a gorgeous walk. it shows from your beautiful images. and i love love love new jersey!!!! happy swf! (:
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice stroll to the beach for a Sky Watch friday. Who's watching the birders watch the birds now! These images feel so cold and gray on such a warm and sunny summer's day. All too soon it will be this way! (Oops! There I go rhyming again!)
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous photos!
ReplyDeleteI love going up the dune and then seeing the surf - it always makes my heart beat a little faster.
I can hear the surf even though I'm a thousand miles away. Really I can. Or not. The photos are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHappy Skywatching, Bobbie! You have found some pretty skies over at Cape May Point! I haven't been there but have been to a part of each of the 50.
ReplyDeleteNot all skies are pretty as you will see in my Texas unfolding! :-)
..
While waiting I peeked at your profile, we have similarities. I have five kids and only four grandkids!
..
Very nice series of shots.
ReplyDeleteExcellent set of pictures and very kind comments also... last week I visit around 220, over the weekend. Some weeks I manage all but with the numbers getting higher it really need more on board... Imac, Sandy and we also have Kluas the site designer on board as well. We cover everyone between us I'm sure. I get around 30-40 emails, around 10 to broken links, and one or two that need removing... it takes time... but in the end I think it's time well spent. I came by here to praise your picture and saw what you had wrote and this is my reward... I get such a kick for the friendliness of Sky Watch..
ReplyDeleteThanks for you words and pictures.
Tom
Great post. Terrific photos.
ReplyDeleteMartha and I have never been there, but intend to visit sometime. (we're birders)
Thanks for sharing and thanks for the visit.

ReplyDeleteGreat photos. I love the photo story up the path.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI love the beach and a beach without people, only a lonely birder - this is something we hardly know here in Europe. BTW, the colours of your photos are very beautiful!
Happy SWF
Bobbie ~ What a thoroughly enjoyable stroll through the dunes (sans the sand in my crocs), down to the beach... I really felt as though I were there. Great photography. That first one is all about the invitation to continue the journey... I love seeing a path (garden or otherwise) curving into the distance... Deb
ReplyDeleteVery lovely photos! Happy SWF. Thanks for visiting and for you kind comments. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos all! I enjoyed your Sky Watch series today … am a ‘beach lover’ myself … living on the West Coast in Southern California a block and a half from the ocean ;--)
ReplyDeleteI played at Sacred Ruminations.
Hugs and blessings,
This is a lovely series. The surf looks so powerful.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos as always Bobbie.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the vote of confidence for my Olympic "Synchronized Sittin"
event.
Just reading some of the comments today on Bob's blog has brought a large smile to my face.
Amazing isn't it how smiling and laughing can help to reduce pain.
Bear((( )))
What a great beach. With the sky so grey and so few people on the beach it brings back memories of winter trips to the coast.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Cheers
Beautiful photos! Mine is up as well. Hope to see you there.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Nita
What lovely photos--I'm a sucker for the winding path. And the surf photo made me long to be there. All emotions your photos are responsible for. Thanks for sharing, Bobbie!
