Sky Watch #18

The 18th week of the new Sky Watch! Time flie
s by so quickly.

Maybe it's just me, but I find a bare tree, even a dead tr
ee, starkly beautiful against the sky. I'm seeing it more now of course, since the autumn leaves have fallen.

The Sky Watch team works very hard to bring us this wonderful meme each week. My sincere thanks to all of the team members.

  12. I enjoy seeing trees without their leaves against the sky, too. It gives you a chance to see their bones, so to speak.

    Very nice photos. :)

  13. These are all stark and evidence of the power of nature. We have many trees like that here in Australia with the drought having a significant effect on trees that have lived for hundreds of years. Sad.

  15. Thank you Bobbie these are lovely pictures for Sky Watch.
We need the trees to bridge the space between land and sky.
    Have a good week.

  17. Yeah, I've always thought a bare tree against an empty sky made a striking photo. Especially at sunrise/set when the branches are only visible in silhouette.

  18. Nope it's not just you. I adore bare limbs and/or trunks against the blue skies and even cloudy days.

  25. I love photos of bare trees against the sky. These are perfecrt but my favorite is number 4, the fuzzy peace sign tree! (It looks like someone is holding up their fingers in the peace sign V shape from the 60's) Those are some hairy fingers!

  26. I do love the elegance of trees without their "clothes" on. Just beautiful! Have a great weekend!

  27. Hi Bobbie, you did good with the bare trees. I like them too.
Happy SkyWatch, I'm doing it again this week (Little Photo Place). Not nearly as pretty as your bare sky but I did find sky. The second one has a lousy sky but half a bare tree.

  34. I like that concept ... it encourages you to maintain an archive of cloud photos which can be used when the time comes. Planning makes perfect ...

Oddly enough, I just posted a sky sequence (on GardenAuthor), before I realized it was a Sky Watch day... maybe I should consider joining?

  45. I like bare trees against the skies as you had done here. I don't have too many options to get pictures like that because of so many forests but if I did, I would definitely take that picture.
    Very nice.
