Sky Watch #31

Time for Sky Watch again, hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Ivar, Wren, Fishing Guy and Louise. Many thanks to all of them for bringing this to us each week.

We're still feeling the cold of winter here, interspersed with the occasional spring-like day. On the second of February we had a nice day like that, turning cold as evening fell. Before it grew too cold for me, I drove up to the Cape May-Lewes Ferry in North Cape May hoping to see a pretty sunset.

With a big, golden sun sinking above them, a couple of Coast Guard boats headed into the ferry
channel towards home.

The sun sank quickly.

I cannot see to drive after dark, so before it fell too far, I headed up the road, along the bay, toward home myself. But I stopped for another moment to take another picture or two.

And as I turned away, back to my car, I noticed the sun still reflected in windows across the road.

  9. Looks like a cold day for sure. The light looks "thin", which I realize isn't a word you can apply to light, but it's the only one that fits. Glad I wasn't aboard those CG boats... that had to be miserable duty.

  25. I've ridden that ferry, but never at the right time of day for such lovely photos. Very clever to catch the reflected glow in the window of the last photo.
