Traveler, the path is nothing more than your footsteps;
traveler, there is no path, a path is made as you go.
You make the path as you go, and on looking back
you see a trail that never can be walked again.
Traveler, there is no path, only a wake in the sea.
- Antonio Machado
Great yellow signs, but it doesn't make me feel very mellow. This is a real sore spot for me around here. We have similar signs with all the two-lane local roads and tons of bike riders. The bikes share okay, but I've noticed too many oncoming drivers seem to have no compunction about pulling out to pass bikes on their side, sending me swerving for the shoulder on my side to avoid them! When I come up behind a bike and there's oncoming traffic, it doesn't seem to me hard to figure out that I should slow down for a bit to let the oncoming traffic pass me before I pull out to pass. I'm just about ready to write on open letter to the newpaper!
Road signs are fun as well as important. It's a bit like a puzzle sometimes to figure them out. Good thing there's usually a word or two with the picture.
I love seeing signs in different places and often take photos of them when on holiday. So thanks for these!
