Mellow Yellow Monday

Thank you, Drowsy Monkey for hosting Mellow Yellow for us. It's fun to see how many places we can spot cheerful yellow.

There is beautiful goldenrod blooming everywhere now. But few if any monarch butterflies to be seen. At least not yet. In previous years, these plants have been covered completely with masses of butterflies by this time, feeding and resting along the bay before making the long flight towards Mexico where they spend the winter. The day I took these photographs was cool and windy though. Maybe they were waiting for warmer sunshine.
