Once again, Tracy, of Hey Harriet is hosting Shadow Shot Sunday for us. Thanks, Tracy!
Before summer disappears completely, here are a few memories from the garden. The sun, shining through a cosmo.

The butterfly bush still has many blooms.

And this pattern of shadows from the leaves of the plane tree, on its trunk.

I like the shadows on the tree trunk, Bobbie.
ReplyDeleteOh Bobbie that cosmo shot is most excellent
ReplyDeletelovely, the cosmo looks wonderful with the sun shining through like that and i love the last shot, trunks patterned with shadowy leaves are so wonderful
ReplyDeleteAren't we lucky to have these photos to remind us of how sweet it was...sigh!
ReplyDeleteHave a sunny day, the rain is on it's way...ha!
Oh, what gorgeous shadow shots, Bobbie! I love them all! They each have a special beauty as summer slips away!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Sylvia
Wonderful to see sun still shining around the world.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have sun nowadays. Just having windy, rainy and very chilly days & nights.
Your shots are to be envied of, like I am.
Happy SS
The sycamore brings back such memories. I lived in Rochester, NY 18 years and we have an urban forest in Rochester. One street has huge sycamores. Brian and I would often take evening walks through our urban forest. The ice storm of 1991 was so hard on us. So many old trees were cut down because they said the damage to them made them dangerous. Most of the sycamores survived but so many of the giant silver maples didn't.
ReplyDeleteThe Arizona sycamores are different from our plane trees in the East. Their barks are just shades of grey.
Lovely shadow series. Methunk the second was my fav until I saw the third ... just beautiful ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Beautiful shadows. Butterfly bush is lovely. I have no luck growing them, but husband calls me "black thumb", so maybe that has something to do with it. The tree shadow looks so lacy and soft..
ReplyDeleteHappy SSS.
Too bad there weren't any butterflies flitting around on the bush! I really love those swimming leaf shadows on the tree trunk. They seem to have a life of their own.
ReplyDeleteThe shadows left by the plant are beautiful in its lacy complexity. The leaves of the tree provide a protective shadow for the tree and grasses of well. The simplicity of the shadow in the flower is beautiful. Nice!
ReplyDeleteAll lovely, but my eye returns again and again to the last one of the shadow-dappld tree trunk. Truly spectacular photo.
ReplyDeletethat first shot is gorgeous..
ReplyDeleteThe flower, the trunk, great stuff.
ReplyDeleteThe trunk effect is really nice Bobbie. I still have a few blooms on the butterfly bush and a couple of blooms here and there..but the summer is gone...sigh....
ReplyDeleteNicely found Bobbie!
ReplyDeleteI think I leaning toward the tree as my favorite!
Howdee Bobbie..
ReplyDeleteI always love your shadow shots! which reminds me I need to take more of them!
Have always loved butterfly bushes, the Budliar(?) I think; all your shadows are interesting, the last one particularly crisp.
ReplyDeleteFrost is on its way
ReplyDeletebut butterfly bush still blooms,
bringing me blessings.
My Shadow Shot
