Did you see Dianne's post today! She has pictures of the actual arrival of some Shelter Boxes in Haiti.
These are pictures that Dianne posted.
And here is a tent being put to use.
I know - a few are just a drop in the bucket. But every drop helps! Can you imagine what it would mean to you if you had lost everything - EVERYTHING - that you owned, and saw all of your family, friends and neighbors in the same situation, and suddenly you were presented with a tent for ten people, bedding, water purifier tablets, containers for water, tools, and even some school supplies for your children! The nothing that you had suddenly turned into SOMETHING. Difficult to understand. We have so much. And they have nothing at all.

I think that it's great that the boxes have arrived already in Haiti and being put to use immediately. God bless all those involved in helping out.

This is so terrific! I was just reading in the paper this morning that the Haitians are feeling forsaken by the world. It's so sad that things can't get organized to help them. I understand the Israelis have been the most efficient in setting up and rescuing. The Americans are not nearly as organized. What a shame.
We are indeed blessed -- although sometimes you wouldn't know it the way so many people complain about the least little thing. My kids have donated, too, and I'm very proud of their awareness and concern for others! Great shots! Thanks for sharing!

This is good news, Bobbie! Yes, it's just a drop in the bucket, but to fill a bucket, you have to start somewhere. . .
Fabulous post .. I am running late today .. gotta make it to Di's now ... xo
In the UK where shelterboxes originates 92% of contibutions go directly to the boxes. In the US 85% goes. It's organized by the local Rotary Clubs. In the US it is a Rotary Club in Lakewood Ranch, FL. I wonder why the US group needs 15% for administrative costs.
Daryl called us a couple of great broads with good hearts, don't you love that? !!!
being in the same company with you in any way is a honor Bobbie
love ya
Bobbie, this is wonderful. The new mostly reports the lack and little of what is actually being done!
I wondered about all the 'stuff' being collected and while I think that is good hearted, I think the agencies need money so that they can buy transportation over there.. It is such a huge disaster.. Nice to see some good news... Michelle
