International Women's Day

Today, March 8th, is International Women's Day.

Perhaps you would be interested in visiting www.theIRC.org, the International Rescue Committee.

Speak out for women around the world who are struggling to survive.

I guess I will celebrate quietly, by reading more of Zora Neale Hurston's book, Their Eyes Were Watching God. (Thank you, Gina, for suggesting it to us.) Rita found me a large print edition.

I love the mid 20th century books reissued\by Persephone books
almost all women writers.

I guess Hallmark hasnt made it an official 'card' holiday ... if they had it would have gotten more attention, I heard about it after hearing that Ms Bigelow won the Academy Award for best director ..
