Lighthouse cruises go out from Cape May, New Jersey into the Delaware Bay during the summer months. I have been fortunate enough to take two of these cruises in past years. The combination of sky and water is so beautiful, and the lighthouses out there add color and interest. This one is called Elbow at Crossledge.

Please visit our host, Tom, at Wigger's World, and see his list of participants in Sky Watch Friday so that you can view their photos for this week.
I have seen similar lighthouses in the Pacific near islands and around Japan but never anywhere else. They always seemed lonesome places to me and sometimes were swarming with birds.
ReplyDeleteYour photographs of those you posted are very good.
The second and last one are the best. In my humble opinion, of course!
ReplyDeleteI really loved all of your lighthouse photos... they are wonderful to view! We don't have too many out here in the mountains as I am sure you would know... beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend!
Rocky Mountain Retreat
I especially love the cloud pictures.
ReplyDeleteThese are great lighthouse shots! How many lives these keep safe!
ReplyDeleteThese are all beautiful lighthouses and to think that people once lived in them? These are so appropiate for sky watch as the lighthouses are watches themselves. Lovely photos. Thanks for having visited mine.
ReplyDeleteBobbie: Very beautiful pictures of the lighthouses and sky.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! The lighthouses look like big buoys! My hubby's great grandfather was a lighthouse keeper off Cape Cod. =)
ReplyDeleteI love your lighthouse photos. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteHi! All very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful lighthouse as subject.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots.
Great combination!
ReplyDeleteI like that last one the best. I love lighthouses - where I grew up we had a few. My favorite one sits on an island that is now eroding (thanks to a few hurricane seasons too many) and it's in danger of falling into the water. Somehow, this makes me like it more - it's sort of rusty and weathered.
ReplyDeleteOh, and PS - I'm also in the east coast time zone!
never see lighthouses like these. great pictures
ReplyDeleteI very much enjoyed your taking us with you on a lighthouse cruise. What interesting structures they are. Nice photographs.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your lighthouse cruise! Almost like I´ve been there myself. Red ones are nice.
ReplyDeleteGreat series!
ReplyDeleteLove no. 4! :)

Wonderful pictures!
ReplyDeleteBobbie, great lighthouse shots. I love the bright red one. I couldn't help noticing the birds onthe ledge. Do you know what they are?
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful images, excellent.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful pictures! There is so much history and character there.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a light house in person.
ReplyDeleteBut those are different then what I seen in picture before.
I loved the photos and always have wondered about the type of people who could man those old ones. Not I.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Great photos. We took our grandson to visit the Split Rock lighthouse in northern Mn. and he still talks about it today. I love them but the do sound so mournful
ReplyDeletebobbie, I'm so glad you visited at my blog. Your Skywatch photos of lighthouses are wonderful. I love lighthouses and when my husband and I several years ago went on a vacation through the Northeastern states we stopped at every lighthouse we could. This trip out of Cape May sounds marvelous. I'll have to look into it! :D
