"It took us a couple of days because I like to know what I'm talking about before I speak."
I think I got the exact words right.
This has to be the greatest explanation a President of the U.S. ever gave to a reporter who was demanding to know why the White House didn't jump into the fray as quickly as the so-called "news" hounds did.
Yes that was a great statement! He was amazing last night.
ReplyDeleteIt was my favorite response and I loved how there was no follow up question..
ReplyDeleteGreat line indeed. Think that I could steal it and use it often!
ReplyDeleteMy first time visiting your blog, love it! Will be back!
Wow! thanks for sharing this, I love it.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it, isn't he wonderful! Imagine that - actually thinking first

I often yearn for the days before 24-hour news, too!
ReplyDeleteObama kicks ass!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Christine -- he does kick ass! Wish we had more like him!

ReplyDeleteThose arse-hole Rethuglicans are gonna be such a thorn in his side. Ugh.
The "news" hounds continually astound me with their rediculous questions...I have a hard time understanding why a news outlet sends in these dim bulbs.
ReplyDeleteI am still so happy with how the president is handling things. He's really working hard. I'm just amazed at his calm. With everything going on around him, he's still looking like he's got a handle on things and that we shouldn't worry.
ReplyDeleteI loved this moment too! It's a marvelous reminder that thinking before we speak makes tons of sense. I also appreciate the way Obama answers questions ... bringing us along by demonstrating HOW he thinks about issues ... what I refer to as metacognition or thinking about the process of thinking itself.
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
