Ready to Fledge







Jewel, the hummingbird chick being

U Stream is ready to fledge. This is the second day that she has been sitting on the edge of the nest, trying to make up her mind to take off. Once in a great while, her mother, Phoebe, does stop by to feed her, but it's a very brief visit. Jewel is very active, looking up and down and turning around constantly. Could be any minute - or not.
