to fledge. This is the second day that she has been sitting on the edge of the nest, trying to make up her mind to take off. Once in a great while, her mother, Phoebe, does stop by to feed her, but it's a very brief visit. Jewel is very active, looking up and down and turning around constantly. Could be any minute - or not.
Sometimes you need a push to get you going ...
