Sky Watch 7

Recently one of my daughters had a new roof put on her house. It was accomplished on a day when the sky was a beautiful, clear blue. It went something like this:

The men climbed up and went right to work. Very efficiently. No nonsense.

In no time at all the old roof had been stripped away, and new shingles were laid.

This is how it looked from the ground.

Seemed like no time at all, and they were finishing up the job. We're very glad that the weather cooperated.

Tom, Sandy , Imax and Klaus are doing a great job handling Sky Watch for us. Please go to the site and follow the links to photos from participants.

Oooops! Almost forgot to give credit where credit is due. My daughter, Rita, took these pictures.

I wish I could find someone as effecient as these blokes. Trying to get a decent workman who doesn't want to bankrupt you around here is impossible. In the meantime, we have to put up with a leaky roof.

Now isn't that color what you'd call Robin's egg blue? Very pretty by whatever name. Roofing looks like a bood job, too!

What a gorgeous day for being up on the roof! A marvelous blue sky! Very nice post.

I'll need a new roof soon. I hope I have a similar experience! The sky in the last shot is gorgeous! I haven't seen a blue sky without clouds in a few weeks.

Beautiful blue sky and looks like a yellow house. I just love yellow houses for some reason. They told us when I was in real estate class that yellow houses sell better than other houses. Guess I am not the only one that likes them! Great pictures.

That roofing is a hot job and requires lots of bending and stooping. I just can't imagine doing it again at my 74 years.

It sure looks nice though and I am sure your daughter is pleased with the results.

Great series of photos of the new roof being put on! If only the roofers around here were this efficient and quick! How lucky she was to get men that were able to do it on such a beautiful sunny day!!!

What a great job! It's really something to see craftsmen at work, isn't it?

Very clever - a different approach and great storytelling.

Nice of the weather to cooperate with the workers by providing that clear blue sky.

I like this essay. We did our own reroof -- never again! I've probably told you this before but I love your profile photo.

The sky was beautiful and yet so were the workers. It takes a lot of endurance and strength to be a roofer, just as it takes a miracle to produce that beautiful sky.

I love it.

There is an old joke Bobbie
" Work fascinates me, I could sit and watch it forever.
These men do not know that joke.
Lovely skies and shadows and nice to see people doing such a good job.
Thanks for you visits.

Lovely blue sky.
We also are getting our roof replaced in the next month.
Hopefully our experiences with the roofers and the weather mimic your daughter's.

Cool pics! Lots of roofing going on here in Greensburg, Kansas... we see lots of this sort of thing, although we have no trees around our houses anymore!

The blue of the sky is extraordinary! and the workmen finishing so quickly is extraordinary too! Ha! :)

Great view from the work area...good thing it did went well!

My understanding is that if you actually know what you're doing, roofing is very easy. If you have no clue what you're doing, it'll take you a year to do what they did in no time. :)

Hi Bobbie, those guys worked fast! From what I could see they seemed pretty sure footed. And they picked a nice day for it.
Thank you for peeking at my church spire and moon in the cloudy evening sky.
