Sky Watch 7
Recently one of my daughters had a new roof put on her house. It was accomplished on a day when the sky was a beautiful, clear blue. It went something like this:
The men climbed up and went right to work. Very efficiently. No nonsense.
In no time at all the old roof had been stripped away, and new shingles were laid.
This is how it looked from the ground.
Seemed like no time at all, and they were finishing up the job. We're very glad that the weather cooperated.
Tom, Sandy , Imax and Klaus are doing a great job handling Sky Watch for us. Please go to the site and follow the links to photos from participants.
Oooops! Almost forgot to give credit where credit is due. My daughter, Rita, took these pictures.

Great pics! Glad the roofing went well and thanks for the info. I'll check it out.
great photos!!
I wish I could find someone as effecient as these blokes. Trying to get a decent workman who doesn't want to bankrupt you around here is impossible. In the meantime, we have to put up with a leaky roof.
Now isn't that color what you'd call Robin's egg blue? Very pretty by whatever name. Roofing looks like a bood job, too!
What a gorgeous day for being up on the roof! A marvelous blue sky! Very nice post.
That IS a beautiful clear, blue sky! Nice post.
Bobbie: Nice capture of the roofing job into the blue Sky.
the weather looks great up there!
I'll need a new roof soon. I hope I have a similar experience! The sky in the last shot is gorgeous! I haven't seen a blue sky without clouds in a few weeks.
Great photos! Happy SWF!Drop by if you got a chance, HERE.
Hello! Pretty blue sky. I am glad that Rita had a good experience. All to often we don't.
Great photos,
and a good work!!
Perfect shots for Skywatch! Mine's up too hope you can drop by.... Happy weekend!
Ha! Glad to have new roof for the coming winter. Nice sunny day to sky watch.
Nice post.
The second picture reminds me of a patchwork quilt! How wonderful that the weather cooperated for we all know it doesn't always. Happy Skywatch Friday!
This is a creative bend on Sky Watch! Great idea. It was a beautiful day.
What a nice catalog of the roofing project--I noticed that blue sky tried to get into each picture :O)
Glad it went fast.
Have a lovely weekend, Bobbie!
Great series of photos!
Wonderful photos! Thank you for your visit and comment!
Nice series of photos and story for SWF, it is always nice to see something different.
great pictures!
Beautiful blue sky and looks like a yellow house. I just love yellow houses for some reason. They told us when I was in real estate class that yellow houses sell better than other houses. Guess I am not the only one that likes them! Great pictures.
That roofing is a hot job and requires lots of bending and stooping. I just can't imagine doing it again at my 74 years.
It sure looks nice though and I am sure your daughter is pleased with the results.
My SkyWatch post today > Canon Pixels
Great series of photos of the new roof being put on! If only the roofers around here were this efficient and quick! How lucky she was to get men that were able to do it on such a beautiful sunny day!!!
I love the last shot with the men almost silhouetted in the hole of leafy green!
that's very cool. good sky and look at the work done. I'll be watching the DNC tonight, can't wait!
Great shots! They look like good roofers too!
I also caught the reflection in the front window - nice.
Thanks for stopping by my bridge Sky Watch and leaving such lovely comment.
Hi Bobbie, thank you for your visit. A lovely home with a new roof; a fantastic blue sky, great post and lovely pictures. Those roof workers were very efficient and fast!
What a great job! It's really something to see craftsmen at work, isn't it?
Very clever - a different approach and great storytelling.
Nice of the weather to cooperate with the workers by providing that clear blue sky.
(Another) Bobbie
I like this essay. We did our own reroof -- never again! I've probably told you this before but I love your profile photo.
The sky was beautiful and yet so were the workers. It takes a lot of endurance and strength to be a roofer, just as it takes a miracle to produce that beautiful sky.
I love it.
Very fine pictures for a great Sky Watch!
Great photos and they did a good job. Happy SWF.
Thanks for sharing this interesting Sky Watch sequence, Bobbie.
There is an old joke Bobbie
" Work fascinates me, I could sit and watch it forever.
These men do not know that joke.
Lovely skies and shadows and nice to see people doing such a good job.
Thanks for you visits.
Good job done! Glad the weather was good during the roofing.
Love the touch of clear sky in each pic keeping everyone happily busy! Great little background story!
great photos made even better by such a beautiful clear blue sky
Yeah, this is a nice SWF post. Men working on the roof beneath the blue blue sky. Very nice ;-)
Well, now she doesn't have to worry about her roof for a while...I'm glad that I don't have to work out in the heat, I admire those roofers.
Best weather for such roofing jobs. Great shots all of them.
Looks like it will not leak now.
Cheers
Lovely blue sky.
We also are getting our roof replaced in the next month.
Hopefully our experiences with the roofers and the weather mimic your daughter's.
Bear((( )))
Cool pics! Lots of roofing going on here in Greensburg, Kansas... we see lots of this sort of thing, although we have no trees around our houses anymore!
Thanks for stopping by Prairie Visions!
The weather sure did cooperate--thank goodness and the job is done. Beautiful blue in the sky. MB
The blue of the sky is extraordinary! and the workmen finishing so quickly is extraordinary too! Ha! :)
So glad the roof went on so quickly befor the winter weather sets in.. thanks for sharing
Great view from the work area...good thing it did went well!
My understanding is that if you actually know what you're doing, roofing is very easy. If you have no clue what you're doing, it'll take you a year to do what they did in no time. :)
Great shots .. Rita .. and Bobbie ...
:-Daryl
And now what falls from the sky will not leak into the house! Nice photos of the guys working in the sky. Thanks for visiting my sky watch.
Fun photo series for Sky Watch this week! Mine's up at Sacred Ruminations this morning ... along with a bit of Haiku just because ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
I like the last photo the best. Btw : Nice to have so many trees around the house : very cozy and natural.
Hi Bobbie, those guys worked fast! From what I could see they seemed pretty sure footed. And they picked a nice day for it.
Thank you for peeking at my church spire and moon in the cloudy evening sky.
..
I'm sure glad they had such a nice day to do this work.
Wow that looks like a tough job! Well done!
Wow - all in one day?!?! They must really do their job very efficiently! That's impressive.
Must be hot work for those roofers...
