Sky Watch #18

The 18th week of the new Sky Watch! Time flie
s by so quickly.

Maybe it's just me, but I find a bare tree, even a dead tr
ee, starkly beautiful against the sky. I'm seeing it more now of course, since the autumn leaves have fallen.

The Sky Watch team works very hard to bring us this wonderful meme each week. My sincere thanks to all of the team members.

Your presentation of these huge trees is magnificnet. Happy skywatching, I find I am inclinded to look up into the trees and the sky beyond more often now as all the beautiful photos on skywatch have influenced me to do so.

Th foliage is beautiful when it's on the tree, but sometimes it is good to study the "bones".

the first photo is my favorite too. there is something so poignant about a bare tree touching the sky.

Me too, I love bare trees. I like all these, especially the top one with the "cottonball clouds"

I enjoy seeing trees without their leaves against the sky, too. It gives you a chance to see their bones, so to speak.

Very nice photos. :)

These are all stark and evidence of the power of nature. We have many trees like that here in Australia with the drought having a significant effect on trees that have lived for hundreds of years. Sad.

great shots ... I love how tree limbs grow in all sorts of odd directions ..

Thank you Bobbie these are lovely pictures for Sky Watch.
We need the trees to bridge the space between land and sky.
Have a good week.

There's nothing more beautiful to my eyes than the silhouette of a bare tree. They are so graceful. ;-)
Happy Sky Watch!

Yeah, I've always thought a bare tree against an empty sky made a striking photo. Especially at sunrise/set when the branches are only visible in silhouette.

Nope it's not just you. I adore bare limbs and/or trunks against the blue skies and even cloudy days.

I love photos of bare trees against the sky. These are perfecrt but my favorite is number 4, the fuzzy peace sign tree! (It looks like someone is holding up their fingers in the peace sign V shape from the 60's) Those are some hairy fingers!

I do love the elegance of trees without their "clothes" on. Just beautiful! Have a great weekend!

Hi Bobbie, you did good with the bare trees. I like them too.
Happy SkyWatch, I'm doing it again this week (Little Photo Place). Not nearly as pretty as your bare sky but I did find sky. The second one has a lousy sky but half a bare tree.

I love the bare branches! They remind me of the trees hunger for the light as well as my own. Thanks for these.

Lovely shots!
Each season has its own charm.

Me. too. I like bare trees, and yes -- dead trees, too. And just as you have done, they make wonderful points of interest with nice sky backgrounds.

I like that concept ... it encourages you to maintain an archive of cloud photos which can be used when the time comes. Planning makes perfect ...

Taiska said...

Ah! You have also trees front of the sky. I live that kind of view! Beautiful photos indeed!

Great post, Bobbie! There is stark beauty in November... thanks for capturing, and presenting it, in such an artistic manner.

Oddly enough, I just posted a sky sequence (on GardenAuthor), before I realized it was a Sky Watch day... maybe I should consider joining?

Wishing you blue skies... Deb

Wow, look at all the diversity of bare trees you've found. Some of these are just lead the eye right to the sky... great post.

I too love the starkness of a barren tree against the vivid blue of a beautiful sky.

I like bare trees against the skies as you had done here. I don't have too many options to get pictures like that because of so many forests but if I did, I would definitely take that picture.
Very nice.
