Sky Watch #20
It's COLD out there! Well, too cold for my liking anyway.
Hi. Time again for Sky Watch, hosted by Sandy, Wren, Louise, Klaus, Ivar and Fishing Guy. And many thanks to them for doing this for us each week.
Last Saturday, late in the afternoon, I happened to walk outside and look up at the sky. Wow! The weatherman had promised us snow soon. We had a shower or two of snow in the previous couple of days. But these skies told me it was pretty sure to come during the night. I didn't have a clear view from my house. Sorry about that. But what I saw as I looked north was this:
Turning to the west, I saw this:
And then to the east:
I don't have a clear view of the southern sky at all. But these three were enough for me. At least it didn't look like a nor'easter that was coming. But - in the end, there was no storm at all. Just the threatening clouds. False alarm!

Wow, Beautiful skywatch photos!
Can't believe it's already Thursday again...
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well!!!
Hugs,
Kelly
What's better than threatening clouds to make a picturesque sky, but then nothing comes of it? Nice photo series!
Lovely photos that do picture the season so well. Much love to you, Bobbi.
I like your pics and your blog. Thanks for commenting on mine!

It looks cold, but crsip clean shots.
Bobbie: It fun when you get the sky warning without getting slammed with the snow. Thanks for sharing on SWF.
I like those false alarm storm skies much better than the snow ones! We are currently experiencing a mild turn and what small amount of snow we had had is now gone!!! Happy skywatching!
Hi Bobbie, soooorry you didn't get some snow.
Maybe next time ;-)
That was my favorite thing about late fall in New Hampshire, the early snow that came down pretty fast and heavy but didn't stick. I liked it best when I was out in it, perhaps on a shopping trip.
Happy SkyWatching,
..
Those are dramatic views! Love 'em. Take care, Bobbie.
Nice dramatic looking sky pictures!
What BEAUTIFUL stormy skies you've shared today, but it looks COLD to me!!!
Hugs and blessings,
It's always a wonder when the skies look so threatening and nothing happens. And such a contrast you got by just turning around!
these look like cold wintry skies, but very beautiful skies as well.
Lovely set of sky watch shots!
Beautiful shots and yes, different segments of sky are fascinating to shoot.
we do share the same skies!! you sky looks a lot like my sky.
I was telling Lisa that I was on Rt 35 headed south and thinking of you guys
love your shots as always. even the wires add drama
Hello Bobbie,
Nice photos and clever observation!
We had the same false alarm this week in Istanbul and you saw on my blog the sky we had after the announcement "It will snow! Be ready!" :-)
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
Best regards,
Good Sky Watching, Bobbie. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving.
Peace & love,
Gina
Great photos, interesting to see the differences.
I really like how you put it in black and white. I am going to have to try that myself.
The last picture reminds me of a scene from To Kill a Mockinbird. Very nice.
Those clouds are menacing but I did see a spot of blue up there. MB
We've been getting a lot of those false alarm clouds here in Hawaii. Your photos are just beautiful.
Lovely pictures Bobbie, I always wonder who is in store for the passed over weather.
Snows will come soon enought though.A roof overhead, warm fires and comfort food with family and friends will be just what we need.
False alarm on the snow but perfect for skywatching!
Looking at those skies, I can't believe the storm missed you. Congratulations! :)
Great skywatch, thanks for sharing.
Very atmospheric. I imagine when you get a storm it's quite a serious thing.
Thanks for your visit!
These photos are terrific and interesting. The white clouds in the first one looks like mountains covered with snow. And the second one looks a bit spooky. But still wonderful.
Happy skywatching:-)
