Just for the record, I have been receiving a tremendous number of anonymous and other weird comments lately, some porno. This is why I never publish comments without my prior approval. They are easy to delete if they come to me first, so of course that's what I do immediately, without even reading them myself. They never reach my readers. It's a total waste of time for whoever sends them.
If anyone is commenting anonymously because they don't have a website - sorry about that, but it won't be read.

I have had the same problem, Bobbie, even on my old blog. I had to put comment moderation on the blog, which I hate to do, but otherwise, I'd spend all my time finding and deleting the filth - or ads for Viagra.
I think most of those are computer generated 'bot' posts the only way to stop them other than the way you are presently handling it is to turn on the No Anon posts feature which doesnt let anyone post unless they have a real name/blog/email
Yes. Same here. I now have comment moderation set up on all my blogs.
I'm not sure why, but I've never gotten any anon comments and no porno -- so far, hope that continues! I'd rather not use comment moderation, but if I start getting any of that junk then I surely will use it! Have a great day, Bobbie!

Word verification really annoys me, so I don't like to make others do it. that's why I choose to moderate comments before they are published. I like Daryl's idea, and have also chosen to be able to moderate comments always, to avoid them leaving this kind of comment on earlier posts as well.
I'd welcome ANY comments...even from a robot! Haha! No, really must be annoying, Bobbie. Keep the bugs at bay!
