I took these pictures last autumn at Cape May Point, New Jersey, near the State Park, on the Delaware Bay.
This is the start of the path leading up, over the dunes.
As the path continues, you can see a pair of birders at the top of the dune, looking out over the water.
As we reach the top of the dune, we see the surf.
Below us, on the beach, is a lone birder with a scope. I wonder what it is he is trying to see out there.
Sky Watch is hosted each week by Tom, Sandy and Imax. Please visit the site and discover the photographs taken by participants from around the world.
I would like to say that I try to visit as many participants as possible. There are so many truly wonderful photographs, and I enjoy them all. I only wish that it could be possible to comment on every one of them, but like most of us, I find I cannot do this when there are over 300 on the list. I continue to view them throughout the week. Others must do this too, since I often receive comments late in the following week. I really appreciate what Tom, Sandy and Imax are doing for us with Sky Watch.

I love Cape May. A friend's family has a house on Madison just 2 short blocks to the beach ... and I have walked up that very walkway and stood in that very spot ...
Do you live near Cape May? If we go there this September (we have for the last few years) maybe we can find a time/place to get together!
Great series of pictures. Oh how I long to visit the beach again.
Beautiful dune shots.
Thank you for the trip (and for the rest of what you wrote - I agree))
Those are really beautiful shots! :)
must have a gorgeous walk. it shows from your beautiful images. and i love love love new jersey!!!! happy swf! (:
What a nice stroll to the beach for a Sky Watch friday. Who's watching the birders watch the birds now! These images feel so cold and gray on such a warm and sunny summer's day. All too soon it will be this way! (Oops! There I go rhyming again!)
What gorgeous photos!
I love going up the dune and then seeing the surf - it always makes my heart beat a little faster.
I can hear the surf even though I'm a thousand miles away. Really I can. Or not. The photos are wonderful!
Happy Skywatching, Bobbie! You have found some pretty skies over at Cape May Point! I haven't been there but have been to a part of each of the 50.
Not all skies are pretty as you will see in my Texas unfolding! :-)
While waiting I peeked at your profile, we have similarities. I have five kids and only four grandkids!
Very nice series of shots.
Excellent set of pictures and very kind comments also... last week I visit around 220, over the weekend. Some weeks I manage all but with the numbers getting higher it really need more on board... Imac, Sandy and we also have Kluas the site designer on board as well. We cover everyone between us I'm sure. I get around 30-40 emails, around 10 to broken links, and one or two that need removing... it takes time... but in the end I think it's time well spent. I came by here to praise your picture and saw what you had wrote and this is my reward... I get such a kick for the friendliness of Sky Watch..
Thanks for you words and pictures.
Great post. Terrific photos.
Martha and I have never been there, but intend to visit sometime. (we're birders)
Thanks for sharing and thanks for the visit.
Troy and Martha
Fantastic set of pictures! Definitely worth the climb up for that view... outstanding!
These are so detailed. I feel like am walking right up that path to the beach.
this looks like a place where i would enjoy spending time... gorgeous photos!
Wow! Nice series of sea, beach and sky pictures:)

Great collection of pictures. I can't pick a favorite.
The beach is a beautiful place, no matter the color of the sky, isn't it?

Hi! I love the shadow in the first pic. The way the sand looks in the second. The wave crashing in the next. Oh - I love them all. Lisa
What a lovely setting! I do so love the beach... coastlines are beautiful.
I feel the same about SWF... I try to visit as many as possible - it's awe inspiring to see all the skies the world has to offer!
Wonderful series, and the big sky one at the end of a great finale!

Wonderful collection of pictures.
That last shot is beautiful ...
All beautiful but I like that shot with the birder the best. Perhaps because it's where I'd most like being.
Love the series of photos. What a nice path way to get to the magical spot. The sky is beautiful. Happy SWF.
I like the way you led us over the dunes and onto the beach with your photos. And then the big reveal - a moody looking sky. Nice work!
A nice portrait of the area as well as a great skywatch!
That is a beautiful place... Flashes of a wedding couple walking down there is at the back of my head now somehow.
Have a blessed weekend!!
Simply beautiful bobbie. Thanks for all of this.
Beautiful series. I have a friend who lives in Cape May and has never been happier. I especially like that last photo.
I played today and mines from the beach, too. :)
Cape May looks like a wonderful place. You captured some wonderful views. The dunes are lovely.
Yes! I too comment at odd times! Sometimes, when I may be visiting a blog for another prompt, I may notice a Skywatch I have not seen, so wander there too and leave a comment!
Love these pics!
WOnderful photos :)
Ahhh. Beaches and sand. So relaxing.
I love the colors in the last one, very soothing and cool.
Great photos. I love the photo story up the path.
Great photos. I love the photo story up the path.
Thanks for stopping by!
I love the beach and a beach without people, only a lonely birder - this is something we hardly know here in Europe. BTW, the colours of your photos are very beautiful!
Bobbie ~ What a thoroughly enjoyable stroll through the dunes (sans the sand in my crocs), down to the beach... I really felt as though I were there. Great photography. That first one is all about the invitation to continue the journey... I love seeing a path (garden or otherwise) curving into the distance... Deb
Very lovely photos! Happy SWF. Thanks for visiting and for you kind comments. Cheers!
Wonderful photos all! I enjoyed your Sky Watch series today … am a ‘beach lover’ myself … living on the West Coast in Southern California a block and a half from the ocean ;--)
I played at Sacred Ruminations.
Hugs and blessings,
This is a lovely series. The surf looks so powerful.
Lovely photos as always Bobbie.
Thanks for the vote of confidence for my Olympic "Synchronized Sittin"
Just reading some of the comments today on Bob's blog has brought a large smile to my face.
Amazing isn't it how smiling and laughing can help to reduce pain.
What a great beach. With the sky so grey and so few people on the beach it brings back memories of winter trips to the coast.
Beautiful photos! Mine is up as well. Hope to see you there.
Have a great weekend!
What lovely photos--I'm a sucker for the winding path. And the surf photo made me long to be there. All emotions your photos are responsible for. Thanks for sharing, Bobbie!
Great shots, Bobbie. Love the ocean scene. Thank for your comments.
I love how you took us with you that trip in these series of photos! Very beatifull.
Wonderful walk and photos Bobbie :)
I think he is capturing the sky too :)
Particularly love the sandy pathway to the sky. Gentle and lovely.

Sorry, I’m a little late because I was sailing this weekend.
So I stop by and say thank you for a nice SWF. Wonderful way to the beach and the surfs.
