The Hummers Are Coming!
Lisa called to tell me it's time to hang up the hummingbird feeders. She's right. I checked the Migration Map, and they've been sighted in NJ, NY, PA, and even farther north.
I made up some nectar this morning and got a couple of feeders out there. Come on, guys! It's time! I'm anxious to see you back again! The feeders are here waiting for you. Not a whole lot of flowers ready for you yet, but the feeders are waiting. And the blossoms will be following soon.
I tried to get my taxes done this morning too. Gave up. It's just too hard when you have to use a magnifying glass for every line. I made an appointment with the Office of Aging. Nothing like cutting it down to the last minute, is there?
Today the temperature is supposed to go waaaay up! Before Thursday, that is, when it's supposed to come way back down again, with rain. Oh well. We'll enjoy it while it's here. All the more reason to hang the feeders. If it's going to get cold again, the hummers will need their nectar.
And have you seen how BIG the eaglets are now!
The hawk can probably be seen best in the afternoon, when the sun gets around to that side of the building.

I just saw "Sylvia from Over the Hill" posted a Hummingbird taking nectar from a feeder in the snow!
You can see ithere!
I hope I did this link thing right.
Oh, yes! I hope your hummers have better luck than the one I posted yesterday on that's my world! Poor little guy! Enjoy your warm day while it's there, Bobbie!!
I put my feeders out this weekend. I hope they can find enough to eat as there aren't many insects here yet...Michelle
I am looking forward to seeing photos of the hummers!
Ah, Hummingbirds! Reading your title, I thought it was the invasion of the enormous, gas-guzzling, bonehead car type thing. You get hummingbirds! That's fabulous. Our robins and blue tits can hardly compete! Good luck with the taxes.
I identify with a lot in your post today. I love hummers too, but we won't have any until usually May. We are doin taxes too. My husband does them ,or at least gets everything together to tske to an accountant who does them for us every year. thsnk goodness. And we had wonderful warm high temperatures all weekend. How
I love spring and and the change in weather.
I didn't get a chance to get my feeders ready yet. I do that this afternoon. I can't wait for those little jewels to make their return to our neighborhood.
It was down right hot yesterday. I put my AC on for one cycle to get the humidity out of the house. Today is supposed to be just as bad. Lisa
They'll be at our house, soon, too! I can't wait! We'll probably put our feeders up in another week or so. By that point maybe they won't freeze. :)
Still no hummers at my feeders yet. It is so cold here yet but I have seen insects around so I hope they will find enough to eat..not many flowers yet....The eaglets are so cute....Michelle
