My Grandson

Been thinking of my youngest grandchild. It's been a while since his last visit, and the latest pictures my daughter has sent to me make me so aware how fast he is growing up. I am very grateful that she does take lots of pictures such as these, and posts them on Flickr, so I can always know how he looks and what he is doing 3000 miles away.

I told you all about the Day In the Life of Isaac picture book they sent me not long ago. I really treasure that. He is becoming so grown up these days. I'm told he is doing very well, balancing and pedaling his two wheeler.

They ended the summer with a mini vacation to Emandal Farm.

While there they enjoyed swimming in the river, admiring the fantastic scenery, and sometimes helping out on the farm itself - picking vegetables (which seems to have been his favorite occupation)

helping to care for some of the animals (Do you think he enjoyed the baby chicks?)

and he even helped to make pickles. They took some of those home with them.

And now he's headed back to pre-school and his friends. In a few more months he will be celebrating his fifth birthday! So grown up! Then comes the big decision - how and where he will enter first grade. Home schooling? Maybe. And where? In California? They may be re-locating. Big changes coming in his young life.

Bobbie, I cannot imagine living so far away from my grandchildren. It's good that your daughter takes lots of photos of him. They grow up so quickly, don't they? Our youngest is soon to be 10, and I can hardly believe it has been that long since her birth.

Oh, Bobbie! He is just the cutest little boy and I love those photos of him. The one with the squash is priceless. I know you miss him very much. Maybe, they will relocate closer to you.

Isaac is getting so big! what a cutie pie!
I home schooled my son through sixth grade. We loved it. Had I known anything about blogging I would have kept a blog about it. We had so many interesting adventures and met so many fun people through doing so.

You always lead me to wonderful places. I'd love to put Emandal on my bucket list but don't think I'd make it with Eliot. My late last companion, Brian, would have loved it. My grandson, Eldar, who will be 10 in November lives in Budapest, Hungary. The last time I saw him he was 3. I probably will never see him again. It amazes me that although we have lived such different lives we are kindred spirits on so many levels. Perhaps because we both believe in inclusivity.

Wow. Issac is really growing! He is such a lucky boy. What a wonderful job they're doing. You can just tell. A beautiful, cherished child. What could be more important than this?

My girls grew up with my parents living over seas, as you know. I so wish my dear mother would allow me to set her up with a computer and show her how to open email but I'm afraid she refuses to adapt to those changes. I send photos by sea snail mail but it's hard to keep up with that, dairy-style.

It is a gift to you and Kitty and family that you are good with a computer. Because though of course there is nothing better than being there, you miss out on so much less when you use the computer to communicate.

I enjoyed catching up with your sweet grandson!

All the love,
Gina
