Mellow Yellow Monday #21

Every Monday we thank Drowsey Monkey for hosting Mellow Yellow Monday.

This Monday I have a picture of a house not far from mine. I always have to chuckle when I pass it. It's a very nice, well kept house, but it's just another on a small plot in a large subdivision, and does not have all that much land around, in front, or behind it. But it is guarded by two imposing lions on either side of the driveway. They are very nice lions. I just feel they are a bit out of place in the neighborhood. But, as you see, there are lovely yellow flowers out front as well.

I know exactly where this is. I have to laugh to every time I pass too. Now if you really want to laugh out loud with something out of place in a neighborhood, I'll tell you where a house is protected by gargoyles. Lisa

LOL I love those lions. They do kinda look like some thing you would see on a large estate somewhere. I always kinda thought about adding some pink flamigos to my front yard. =) Hope you have a wonderful week.

Hope that fence contains those lions! I certainly won't try to pick the flowers.

Yes, I know how you feel. We have a HOA that is obsessive about certain things like having absurd FOR SALE signs that are all uniform, but then houses with huge statues of lions and FROGS on tiny porches that look awful get a free pass. Oh well.

Happy MYM!

Roaring good shot! They do look funny in front of the smallish house:)

The lions are quite lovely, but I think having two discordant fences either side makes them seem out of place. And a lion combined with a wire mesh fence is plain weird! But such a fun talking point!

We've got a few houses with similar lions in my neighborhood. Lovely yellow blossoms.
