Carmi decides the theme for each week's photos, at Written, Inc. This week the theme is Reflective.
I have two photos that I think reflect the theme. In the first, there are two meanings of the word. There are reflections in the water of course. But there is also that bench. I can easily imagine someone sitting there, staring at the water, reflecting on...who knows what?
Then there is this old photo of my little grandson and his two cats, looking out of the window. What goes through a little boy's mind? And what, indeed, are the cats reflecting upon?
This picture was taken by his mother.

Perfect photos for the theme.
I love the second photo.
Most likely that cats are reflecting on when they'll be fed next. Or what mischief they can get up to. As for the young fella, there's no telling. Possibly much the same thing, eh?
Excellent post for "reflective," bobbie! That scene is one I'd love to reflect on! Your grandson and the kitties are adorable! :)
Good choices!
Two great "reflective" photos, both different aspects of the theme. How funny that it's possible to "see" the little boy's expression just by the set of his head and shoulders! I love the cat that's next to him, snuggling into his warmth.
The first photo reminds me of the Navesink/Shrewsbury River area, where my family lived for a few years.
Thanks for visiting my blog and my reflective photo.
Both Great pictures. Your grandson looks like he is thinking, "I'd rather be outside than have to take a nap."
Ralph
lovely photos, especially the little boy, very sweet. Ralph might be right it's the great escape he's planning:)
Great photos and great for the theme! Have a great weekend, Bobbie.
Those are both lovely photos, I could see myself sitting on that bench. Your grandson and the cats are indeed reflecting on something we will never know about.
That bench looks like a perfect sopt to sit and reflect on...reflections. I would love to know what "goes on" for cats when they get that look...
Id love to sit on that bench and watch that water!
I like the way you've combined two different takes on reflection into one photo, and a beautiful one at that. I'd love to sit on that bench reflection on the lovely scene laid out in front of me.
I love the photo with the grandkid and cats. Very introspective on all of their parts.
Hi Bobbie,
It's nice to visit you after almost a year. Thanks for poking into Crayons this week and last.
This is a lovely photo. I feel cozy and cared for just looking at it.
I notice that you have increased your font size -- a great thing for those of us with worsening eyesight!
Very nicely done. The bench looks so very inviting. It's just the sort of place I'd love to sit on and reflect on the beauty of the area.
Whatever a child is thinking is always an intriguing lovely curiosity.
What fun pictures! I love that second one with the cats. How cute.
These are both terrific. Love the over-the-shoulder angle in each one. You're right about the first one - looks like a peaceful place for reflection! Great picks for Carmi's challenge.
I played along too albeit a bit too late. I like my photo so I decided to post it anyway.
And if you have a chance could you please stop by Sweetanlo's Reflective Post
She has an amazing reflective photo posted and is afraid that no one will see it since she posted so late.
It really is a great photo and ok I'm biased but it really is. ;-)
I really like both pictures, I love the serious thoughtfulness of young children when they think no one is watching. Thanks so much for visiting my blog!
