Crazy Weather

Talk about the crazy weather! I was just talking to my California daughter. She had a very successful poetry reading, by the way. Her husband and four year old were there too, and when she was done, the little guy asked her, "Mama, how come you didn't stop reading for a long time?"

Anyway, back to the weather. She tells me that last Monday night it was raining, and suddenly became extremely loud. It was sleet, hitting their windows very hard in a high wind. They looked in on Isaac, and he was lying in bed with his hands over his ears. The next morning they found about three inches of sleet in the garden. It didn't melt until afternoon.

When it was time for Isaac to go to pre-school, they bundled him up. But when they got there, a mile or so away, they found it was sunny, and no one knew why he was dressed like that. It seems the sleet was confined to about a square mile, and they were in the center of it. No one else got any.

Just look at her poor succulents.

Weird.

That is weird. I know that here sometimes it will be raining and I can drive 1/2-1 mile down the road and it will be sunny - or vice-versa.

The weather really is crazy. You have hail in California and tornadoes in Hawaii. What is going on?

Guess the only thing you can't count on anymore, weather-wise, is normal!

The weather has been wild this year! There hasn't anywhere close to the amount of snow we've had in Seattle this year in nearly 30 years. Just weird!
